CGIAR Big Data Convention 2017

Data integrity--the unified set of processes that ensure collection, quality control, managment, use and re-use of data for various purposes--has important points of intersection with personal integrity or ethics.   In this session we will examine themes bridging both kinds of integrity including:    

Are current practices in agricultural data collection and use adequate for informing policy on a large scale or farm advisory services at a local scale?  

What precepts of responsible practice should we observe when collecting and using good quality data at a local scale?

What are good examples of data integrity processes, and what is at stake in getting them right?

What is the right balance between good quality, granular data and privacy, confidentiality, transparency, and identity?

Who owns all this data?  Who should?
